WELCOME TO INTEGRATED UNIT (OUTSOURCE)

  • Introduction

Outsource tests are referred to diagnostic tests that are sent out to other laboratory for testing because the tests are not offered or discontinued by, Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory (CDL), PPUSMB. This SOP covers the outsource test procedure including the list of outsource tests, referral laboratories, test charges, laboratory turnaround time (LTAT), specimens handling, sample transportation, and overall flow of the procedure.

(Disclaimer: Please be noted that the total turnaround time (LTAT) for CDL is longer than the LTAT of the referral laboratories due to time taken for specimen packaging, preparation, transportation, clerical work, etc).
